ADAM BAIR FOR SOUTH DAKOTA DISTRICT 10

YOUR VOICE
YOUR FUTURE

OUR SOUTH DAKOTA

WORKING FOR DISCRICT 10

EDUCATION:

Like the vast majority of Americans, I received a public education. I was in the first era of students to be part of the ‘No Child Left Behind’ programs. There is no reason why South Dakota should not have the finest schools in the nation. We live in a state where we have a strong sense of community. Public education is a cornerstone of that community. However, the politically motivated underfunding of our public school system is a vicious attack on a system that has been purposely underfunded. Public funds should remain in public schools.

HEALTHCARE:

Healthcare is something that we all will need at one point or another in our lives. We all know that healthcare and health insurance are complicated and expensive. As somebody who has spent much of their free time trying to understand the nonsensical billing and how to possibly pay for my portion of the bills. State government regulates the insurance industry and that includes health insurance. As a legislator, I believe the state has an obligation to make sure that state regulations help citizens and not corporations.

LIVING AFFORDABLY:

Every South Dakotan should be able to live a life of dignity. We are living in a world where finding a good job, purchasing a home, and living a comfortable life is becoming unattainable for many South Dakotans. This is a reality that I have felt personally and I know is shared by many across the state. They were several years of my life where I worked every single day. I worked my full-time job, a part-time job, and drove Lyft when I had extra time. Despite all of this, I was barely scraping by and I know that my situation is not unique to me.

WHY I'M
RUNNING

My priorities are simple and non-negotiable. I am running for the South Dakota Legislature because I am committed to helping South Dakotans build lives of dignity and reach their full potential.

My vision for dignity goes beyond the legislative floor. Dignity means that every South Dakotan has access to affordable healthcare, world-class education, and affordable living.

I am not running to be just another politician. I am running to be a bridge. I am running to stop the attacks on our neighbors and start the work of building a state that truly reflects our values of independence, neighborliness, and respect.

It is time we stop debating whether our neighbors belong and start working on the issues that actually affect them. I am ready to be that voice. I am ready to lead with courage and I am ready to get to work for District 10

ABOUT ME

Sioux Falls has been my home for many years now, and it’s where I’ve built the life I love. The sense of community here, the people, and the opportunities to contribute have kept me rooted in this city. It’s a place that values hard work, and that’s something that’s been part of who I am from the very beginning.

I grew up in a big family, the oldest of six, where everyone pitched in. Whether I was helping move irrigation pipe in the fields or working on my grandparents’ farm, I learned early that effort and persistence matter. Those lessons stuck with me and shaped the way I approach challenges today.

After high school, I worked at a local dairy before leaving for a service mission to Chile. When I returned, I planned to pass through Sioux Falls on my way to somewhere larger, but I quickly discovered how special this community is. I decided to stay, and I’ve called it home ever since.

My career began in customer service at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, followed by several supervisory roles in retail. Working with people from all walks of life taught me the importance of listening, patience, and problem-solving. I learned how to advocate for both customers and coworkers, and how to find common ground to get things done. Those experiences continue to shape how I approach leadership and community service.

I met my husband during a trip to Yellowstone National Park in 2024, and we were married soon after. We share our home with our two dogs, Dolly and Maui, and our cats, Ziggy and Bowie.
